To be successful in this role you will need:

  • To have a level 2 food hygiene certificate or willingness to work towards this.
  • To have food preparation experience and an understanding of safe and correct food hygiene/handling procedures.
  • To be able to work rostered hours.
  • To have empathy with Leonard Cheshire Disability’s ethos and value base.

To provide an efficient & courteous service of food and drinks to guests and visitors over the day serving breakfast, coffee, lunch afternoon tea and evening meal on a rota system including the bar. Laying up the restaurant for service and keeping areas clean. This will also include restaurant/function service that is required by the guests or management.

Applicants must have some relevant experience and be enthusiastic, approachable and professional, also a strong team player.  Flexibility and ability to cover sickness & holidays is essential in addition to contracted hours.

Due to the location of the Hotel, driving would be an advantage.

Location: Park House Hotel – Kings Lynn
Employment type: Permanent
Job type: Part-time – 10-15 hours per week.
Salary: £9.18
Closing date: 11 August 2017

Flexible working required including working evenings and weekends.  Experience with dietary needs & ability to provide excellent cuisine highly desirable. Driving is an advantage due to rural location.

About the role

You will play a key role in the preparation of meals, special events and functions, providing a high quality kitchen service. Working within the constraints of the budget, you will be responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the kitchen and formal supervision of kitchen staff as part of a vibrant team whose aim is to promote the general well-being of customers.

  • To have a recognised catering qualification, or commitment to work towards this.
  • To have level 3 food hygiene certificate (and additional HACCP accreditation) or have level 4 food hygiene certificate.
  • To have experience of working in a kitchen environment.
  • To be able to work flexibly within rostered hours.
  • To demonstrate a commitment to Leonard Cheshire Disability’s ethos and values
  • A first aid qualification would be advantageous.
